Just a couple questions on the Tormek.....
I notice that Tormek offers an optional diamond dresser and I'm wondering if that is intended to replace the stone grader? Would it produce as fine a surface on the wheel as the fine side of the grader?
And, speaking of the stone grader, is there any problem keeping the wheel periphery square when dressing. Looks like if slightly uneven pressure was applied during dressing that the wheel might end up a little out of parallel with the tool rest and a sharpened chisel edge might not be quite square with the body of the chisel?
It would seem that the diamond dresser would do a good job of maintaining wheel squareness assuming that the tool rest is parallel to the spindle axis of the grinder.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
TIA
Nelson

Nelson, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. The diamond isn't so much for surface as it is for even surface and flatness. The jig itself has a stop that makes it so it dresses evenly (hard to explain but it works).
